Treasurer
Born in Trenton, NJ, Vic Lewchenko received a BS with a double major in Chemistry and Mathematics from Drexel University in Philadelphia, and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Following post-doctoral work at The Johns Hopkins University and Washington University, Lewchenko joined Tripos, Inc, one of the first commercial providers of computational chemistry software and services. During his 20-year career with Tripos, Lewchenko had the opportunity to try out many roles, from Technical Representative for Europe, based in Switzerland, to Product Manager for Tripos’ flagship product.
After leaving Tripos he spent several years as a consultant, first at Pfizer, working on implementation of an enterprise chemical informatics system, eventually broadening his experience beyond Pharma to the agricultural technology and financial services industries. He is currently a Senior Software Engineer at MasterCard.
Lewchenko has been a long-term member of the ACS, serving as President of the Drexel University Student Chapter and currently in his fourth term as Treasurer of the St Louis Section. He also promotes interest in chemistry and chemistry careers while serving as a Chemistry Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts of America.
