Jeramia Ory obtained a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Nebraska and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota. His training in structural biology (x-ray crystallography in graduate school and NMR spectroscopy during his postdoc) has fueled his lifelong interest in the beauty of things we can’t see.

Jeramia was an Associate Professor of Biology at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA before moving back to St. Louis to accept a position as an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy. He has fifteen years of experience teaching biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology at the undergraduate and professional level.

Jeramia is currently a DEI Education Specialist in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Washington University School of Medicine. As a Certified Diversity Facilitrainer, he designs and delivers diversity, anti-racism, and community-building content for faculty and staff at the School of Medicine.
