Jeffrey Cornelius is a Professor of Chemistry at Principia College, where he also received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He received a Master’s and PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Illinois–Champaign-Urbana. His thesis was titled Electron Spin Echo and Millimeter Wave EPR Studies of Disordered Solids, under the direction of Professor R Linn Belford. He was a Belfor Fellow at Albert Einstein College of Yeshiva University working on the NIH resource for pulsed EPR.
He has taught at Principia College for over 20 years, where he has served as Chair of the Chemistry Department and currently serves as Unit Head for the Math and Natural Science Unit. He has taught courses throughout the chemistry major as well as general education courses in chemistry of art/objects, environmental chemistry, and has headed up establishment of a minor in sustainability which debuted in Fall 2011.
Jeff has served the St Louis Section of ACS as Education Committee chair, Undergraduate Research Symposium Chair, Secretary, Director, and in the 2010–12 Chair succession.
