Saint Louis University’s ACS Student Chapter (Chemistry Club) has been awarded a Community Interaction Grant from the national American Chemical Society. The mission of the grant program is “to provide funding for chapter projects that help to improve the science learning experience of underrepresented minority and economically disadvantaged K-12 students.”
The Chem Club will bring chemistry lessons to the 5th-8th graders at the Youth Learning Center in Saint Louis. The goal is to provide chemistry education in hopes of generating interest in chemistry and encouraging local students to pursue further education and a career in chemistry.
Reported by Brent Znosko, the Chem Club faculty advisor (and incidentally a Director and Chair of the Professional Activities Committee of the St Louis ACS Section).
