Join us from a kayak or a raft for a cool geochemistry adventure on the Meramec River
Date: a June weekend, likely out from 7:45 am – 4pm
Details: We’ll gather at Blue Springs Ranch (search for “float trip” 5-mile and select your water craft) for a float trip in June. Bring a lunch, a bathing suit, and sunscreen. We’ll float on the Meramec with a geochemist to come tell us about the amazing geochemistry of Missouri landscape. This is about 1.75 hours from St. Louis, and we’ll plan on a launch near 10am (departing St. Louis ). Beach lunch at the halfway point. Please set up your own kayak or gather a group for a raft.
Gear is provided but a helpful list: dry bags to keep items dry, a cooler with your lunch and drinks, a hat/sunglasses/bathing suit/sunscreen, a cushion for sitting on the rocky short (optional), an extra change of clothes for the ride home, waterproof “tunes”, and many Ziploc bags for your phone and other items. Water pistols and super-soakers have been known to appear! We’ll meet and float on a fun and beautiful part of the river.
Pricing: A single kayak is $43, a 4-person raft is $120
