Time flies when you’re having fun! It was my pleasure to serve as STLACS Section Chair for 2018. It never ceases to amaze me the number of programs and activities that are put on, to great effect, by the STLACS membership. Serving as Section Chair really gives you a new perspective on the impact the American Chemical Society has in our community.
I would like to commend the 2018 Board of Directors for their work and particularly for their support of passionate members who have taken on development of new programs and events. The programs and events put on by the Minority Affairs Committee and the Coffee/Cocktails with Chemists events are providing new and exciting opportunities for chemists to meet and take advantage of being an ACS Member! And all of that is in addition to the excellent programs that have been offered on an annual basis for years.
In the coming year, I’m excited to continue serving as Immediate Past-Chair and see what is next for the section.
