Late last month, we heard we were in the running for four ChemLuminary Awards:
- Outstanding local section career program, large to very large section: Lisa Balbes, career services coordinator
- Outstanding regional meeting: Leah O’Brien, meeting general chair
- Outstanding local section Younger Chemists Committee, Natalie LaFranzo, YCC chair
- Outstanding performance by a local section, medium-large section: Eric Bruton, section chair
Just being short-listed for these awards is a significant accomplishment. These awards are in recognition of activities during 2012 [except the regional meeting, which we hosted in 2011 (go figure)].
Now the news is out. We’ve actually won both Outstanding Local Section YCC and Outstanding Performance by a Local Section. Big thumbs up to Natalie LaFranzo and Eric Bruton, and of course all the people who helped mold these successes.
