Hergenrother is 2019 MilliporeSigma lecturer

Paul J Hergenrother, holder of the Kenneth L Rinehart Endowed Chair in Natural Products Chemistry at University of Illinois–Champaign-Urbana, is the guest speaker in the MilliporeSigma lecture series, co-hosted by Saint Louis University Department of Chemistry and MilliporeSigma R&D.

Dr Hergenrother’s research focuses on the design, synthesis, and evaluation of organic molecules with novel biological properties including enzyme inhibitors and activators; novel anticancer and antibacterial compounds; chemical biology and synthetic organic chemistry. He will give two lectures on successive days meta-targeting (1) novel antibiotics for treatment of drug-resistant bacterial infections and (2) new targets for personalized anti-cancer drugs.
