Steven D. Schwartz of the University of Arizona will deliver the 2024 William J Probst Memorial Lecture on the SIUE campus on Monday, March 25.
His lecture, entitled “Computers and the physics of complex biological systems: Ways to probe long time and rare events that keep us alive, can make us sick, and drugs that can help” is at 7 p.m. in the Meridian Ballroom, Morris University Center.
Dr Schwartz will present a bonus Probst Lecture early the following day, at 11 a.m. in Room 1136, Science East Building. This talk is titled “Why are artificial enzymes so hard to make: lessons from transition path sampling and evolution. A possible way forward”.
