The competition consists of 15-minute presentations based on the research projects of senior chemistry majors. The winner is determined by vote of the professional chemists in the audience. Chemists celebrate Earth Day, St Louis Science Center, 10am–4pm
Come to the Dinosaur Overlook and the Human Adventure Spline for this year’s theme: Air–The Sky is the Limit. Kids and Chemistry will also be participating with additional hands-on activities.

Coordinators are seeking volunteers for any stint two hours or longer. No experience necessary; nothing to bring–only yourself. Patent Primer: What an Inventor Needs to Know About Patent Law, a presentation by Janet Hendrickson, PhD chemist and patent attorney at Senniger Powers, an intellectual property law firm. She helps her clients procure patent rights in the USA and around the world and supports her clients’ capital acquisition and due diligence activities.
Some knowledge of patent law is important to chemists’ careers. Newly graduated chemists as well as experienced chemists will find this talk interesting and informative.
